Herluf Skovsgaard has a higly effective dental practise in Assentoft, a suburb to Randers in Jutland, Denmark working 42

hours a week. Besides he is an engaged lecturer about 20 workdays a year + a number of weekends.   

With more than 600 lectures and more than 50.000 dentists and assistants attending the courses Herluf Skovsgaard is the most well known, reputated and experienced specialist in dental ergonomics and ergonomics related subject in Europe.  

The courses and lectures have been made for very large grups of many hundred of dentists, demonstrationcourses for 50 - 100 dentists and,  intensive hands on  practical training courses for 2 or 4 teams as well as phantomhead preparation courses for 4 dentists.

There has been countless lectures in universities like in Bern und Zürick, Wien, Berlin, Copenhagen, Bruxelles, Lyon, Santiago del Compostella, ect. 

Courses has been held in England, Germany, Holland, Belgium France, Poland, Czech republik, Austria, Schwitzerland, Italy, Spain, Potugal, Turkey,  Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finnland, Russia, Estonia, Latvia, Korea, Japan, USA, Dominican Republik.

INNOVATION AND DEVELLOPMENT

OF DENTAL WORKING PLACES: 

Besides lectures and courses Herluf Skovsgaard has personally develloped and constructed dental units of highest technical and functional quality. He produced  from 1971 to 1984 300 dental unit of which about 150  (age 22 - 34  years!) still are functioning at highest levels demonstrating extraordinary reliability and quality for user.

Inventions and innovations include:

First balanced unitinstruments to optimize tactility of dentists hands. First speed programmation adapted to specific tasks.

Hypercompensated automatic speed regulation controlled by touch an pressure on surface of tooth.

First automatic chip blow to dry cavity without swiching to air syringe. Suction holder integrated in unitbridge for better ergonomics.

First automatic suction valves.

Herluf Skovsgaard has continously develloped dental units and chairs and assistants workingplaces and is,  as consultant for high level producers of dental equipment as develloper very much ecperienced in:

Mechanical construction, estetic design, highlevel functionality, ergonomics and design of software systems, as well as design of the modules for the workingplace behind the chair.

2007 DEVELLOPMENTS

He is currently in 2007 finishing devellopment of 2 advanced workingplaces integrating highest standard of organisation of materials and instrument and high end working techniques. Production will begin authum 2007

A new stool for dentists and assistants is finished and will be in production november 2007. The balanced sitting position is

obtained very comfortabel and avoiding the discomfort and health risk of saddle chairs.

PRIVATE

Margit and Herluf Skovsgaard have 4 adult children.

A son, computer engineer, a daughter, architect designing offices etc in Hong Kong, a son studying design engineering, and a

daughter pedagog and studying pedagogoc anthropology- and 3 grandchildren (girls)

Herlufs wife Margit Skovsgaard, is master in literature and philosophy,  and is coach and lecturer in personal devellopement and communication. She works partly in the dental practise and partly with devellopement and organisation of the course-activities.

Margit and Herluf lives 5 min of walk from the dental clinic in Assentoft in an attractive area.

2 min walk to forest, 20 min of walk to a river. 20 min in car to beach.

Center of Randers, a town of 60.000 inh is 10 km away - and university city of Aarhus 250.000 inh 30 km by highway.

By car 3 1/2 hour to Copenhagen or to Hamburg. By airplane 25 min from Copenhagen + taxi 30 min.
